Trusting Christ's Guidance

Trusting Christ's Guidance

The Bible says in Galatians 2:20, “I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.”

God created everyone after Adam and Eve through the miracle of birth. So, God gives physical life, which is temporary. God also provides eternal life through His Son, Jesus Christ. One night Jesus was approached by a ruler of the Jews, Nicodemus. Jesus told him, “Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.” (John 3:5). After someone is born physically, they must be born again spiritually in order to go to Heaven. Jesus was crucified for the sins of mankind. Jesus said that we who have been born again, are to crucify the flesh (Galatians 5:24). Therefore, as Christ was crucified for our sins, we who are born again are to crucify our flesh and resist the temptations we encounter each day.

We cannot do that on our own, but we can by the power of God.

As we crucify our flesh, we are to live in Christ and follow the Word of God. We should no longer live to satisfy the desires of our flesh, but live to fulfill the will of God. We cannot do that on our own, but we can by the power of God. When we read and study the Word of God, He instructs us on how to live, how to think, how to make decisions, how to raise our children, how to fulfill our responsibilities at school and at work. However, knowing what we need to do is only part of the successful Christian life. We also need the power of God in our lives to give us the strength to obey the Word of God. The Lord God provided for this when He fulfilled His promise to send the Spirit of God to dwell within us who are born again (John 14:16-17). The Spirit of God speaks to us and bears witness to the Word of God. When we encounter trials in our lives, the Spirit of God warns us of the danger and guides us through the trial.

Does Christ live in you in the person of the Holy Spirit. Is He guiding you through this life?
